21 May 08 That’s some mighty good spam

So I logged in a moment ago to write another post, when I noticed 58 new comments in moderation from the last twenty-four hours. Surely I am not that popular, so I now have Akismet set up to deal with spam for me.

Anyways, tomorrow are my real finals (apparently they didn’t count finals day as a school day, which is new to me). I think I’m pretty prepared, despite the fact that I spent several hours blowing things up in GTA4 and melting my brain, but wish me luck.

I’ve also made some headway into my new Cocoa book. Who would have though that a book covering up-to-date tools and syntax would make so much sense! I have a new understanding of some Cocoa principles. I look forward to building more useless things, like random number generators and applications that make my computer talk to me when I am lonely.

19 May 08 It’s time for a nice cup of Cocoa.

Finally, after a four month wait, my updated edition of Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X has arrived. This book is updated to reflect many of the changes that have gone into Cocoa since Leopard. I can’t wait to jump into this book in the Summer.

17 May 08 The sweat of my brow.

Man it’s getting hot. I take back everything I’ve said about being ready for Summer. The days of a sunburned nose and neck and burnt palms from the blazing hot steering wheel are returning. On the other hand, the one with some skin left, finals week has arrived and the semester will end shortly. I’ll be taking some Summer classes to get easy credits out of the way and I’ll hopefully be enjoying some good quality gaming this Summer.

My pre-order for Aaron Hillegass’s updated book, “Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X (Third Edition)”, has finally shipped. It should be here within the next week and I’m really looking forward to grasping a more solid understanding of Cocoa. I’ve also been reading “Getting Things Done”, by David Allen, which is an extremely useful read.

I haven’t really had the chance to make any huge progress in GTAIV, but I’ve made it to the second safehouse. So far this game has been an epic experience. The story is very immersive. So far, I wouldn’t call it a 10, but it’s definitely at least a 9 in my books.
